Faith Colson

Board Member

Faith Colson is the inspiration behind Faith’s Law, landmark legislation in Illinois that strengthens protections for students against sexual abuse in schools.

Terri Miller

Board President

Ms. Miller has been a member of S.E.S.A.M.E. since 1996 and is currently President of the Board of Directors. Her responsibilities include providing support, resource materials and research to survivors, their families, professionals and media. She is the mother of four children, and considers herself a M.O.M. or Mamma On a Mission.

Billie-Jo Grant Sexual Misconduct and Abuse Expert

Billie-Jo Grant

Board Member

Dr. Grant is a researcher, professor, trainer, evaluator, and expert witness. She specializes in sexual harassment (Title IX), abuse, and bullying prevention and response in schools and youth-serving organizations. She is a nationally recognized expert in school employee sexual misconduct and has served as an advisor and researcher for the U.S. Department of Education, the Office for Civil Rights, and the Department of Justice.

Jeffrey Haverland

Board Member

Dr. Haverland has committed his career to education as a middle school science teacher, curriculum coordinator, principal, and professor.

He supports educator and student safety and risk management through ethics trainings; volunteer opportunities including Crisis Text Line, Court Appointed Special Advocacy; and local, state, and national advocacy.
