The NCSESAME community recently joined a powerful conversation on the survivor-led podcast Blooming After Grooming, hosted by Diana and Sarah—two extraordinary advocates who have become close friends and supporters of our work.

Diana and Sarah created Blooming After Grooming after discovering they were both abused by the same high school teacher. Their podcast explores healing, resilience, and the work required to expose grooming and protect future students. The show has quickly become an important platform for survivor voices and for conversations about accountability and prevention.

Many in our community will recognize Diana and Sarah from the Verifent Webinar, where they joined NCSESAME experts to discuss the realities of educator sexual misconduct and the policies needed to stop it.

Terri Miller, in the episode Terri Miller Can Be Both Terri-fic and Terri-fying, shared her decades of experience pushing institutions to confront abuse and take meaningful action to protect children.

In Ya Gotta Have Faith, Faith Colson, whose policy work focuses on preventing school employee sexual misconduct, discussed the laws that can help safeguard students—and the critical gaps that still exist in many states.

The conversations are thoughtful, honest, and deeply rooted in the shared goal of protecting students and supporting survivors.

We are grateful to Diana and Sarah for the work they are doing to shine light on grooming and institutional abuse—and for continuing to amplify the voices of survivors, advocates, and experts working toward safer schools.
